Empowering (2019)
'Empowering' is a project conceptualized for my advanced studio lighting class at Ryerson University. Using imagery of prominent female figures as inspiration, I made portraits of female students at Ryerson to match the level of prestige and honour assigned to public figures. In this series, I wanted to disrupt the notion that only important figures should be photographed in this light and that every woman is deserving of being the subject of empowering portraits such as these.
